The Hawks led by just five points at halftime, but they pulled away in the second half behind a strong performance from Trae Young. Young finished with 32 points and 10 assists, and he hit several key shots down the stretch to help the Hawks secure the win.
John Collins also had a big night for the Hawks, finishing with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Clint Capela added 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Dejounte Murray chipped in with 15 points.
The Pelicans were led by Brandon Ingram, who finished with 26 points. CJ McCollum added 21 points, and Jonas Valanciunas had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hawks improved to 5-3 with the win, while the Pelicans fell to 3-6.
