Brian Thomas Jr. Cleared to Play If No Setbacks Ahead of Week 1
Promising Recruit Expected to Make Immediate Impact
Brian Thomas Jr., the highly touted recruit who recently joined the Florida State Seminoles, has been cleared to play if he experiences no setbacks in the coming weeks. The talented linebacker is expected to make a significant impact on the Seminoles' defense this season.
Thomas Jr. was a five-star recruit out of Miami Central High School and was considered one of the top players in the country. He committed to Florida State in December 2021 and enrolled in January 2023.
Thomas Jr. has impressed coaches and teammates during spring practice and is expected to start at linebacker alongside veteran Amari Gainer. He has shown great instincts, speed, and tackling ability.
"Brian is a special player," said Florida State head coach Mike Norvell. "He has all the tools to be a great linebacker. He's fast, strong, and has a great feel for the game."
At 6'3" and 225 pounds, Thomas Jr. has the size and athleticism to be a force on the field. He is expected to contribute immediately to a Seminoles defense that ranked 13th in the ACC last season.
With Thomas Jr. now cleared to play, the Seminoles are optimistic about their chances in 2023. They believe he has the potential to be a game-changer on defense and help them compete for a conference championship.
"I'm excited to be back on the field and ready to help the Seminoles," said Thomas Jr. "I'm learning a lot from Coach Norvell and the other coaches, and I'm working hard to improve every day."
The Seminoles open their season on August 27th at home against Duquesne. Thomas Jr. is expected to make his debut in that game if he experiences no setbacks in the coming weeks.
