Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb to Undergo MRI for AC Joint Injury in Right Shoulder
MRI Examination Scheduled for Sunday
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is set to undergo an MRI on Sunday to determine the extent of an AC joint injury in his right shoulder. Lamb suffered the injury during the team's preseason game against the Houston Texans on Saturday night.
Initial Diagnosis and Treatment
Lamb was diagnosed with an AC joint injury after initial medical evaluations. The AC joint is located where the clavicle (collarbone) meets the scapula (shoulder blade). Lamb's injury is believed to be a sprain or dislocation, but further testing is needed to confirm.
In the meantime, Lamb has received treatment for pain and swelling. He will rest his shoulder and undergo physical therapy until the MRI results are available.
Potential Impact on Regular Season
The severity of Lamb's injury and the length of his recovery will depend on the MRI results. If it is a minor sprain, he may be able to return to practice and play in the regular season opener on September 11th against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, if the injury is more significant, Lamb could miss multiple regular season games. The Cowboys are already facing injuries to several key players, including quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Michael Gallup.
Cowboys' Depth at Wide Receiver
Without Lamb, the Cowboys would have to rely on other receivers to step up. Amari Cooper, Dalton Schultz, and Cedrick Wilson are all expected to play key roles in the team's offense.
However, Lamb's absence would be a significant blow, as he has emerged as a vital part of the Cowboys' passing attack. In his rookie season, Lamb caught 74 passes for 935 yards and five touchdowns.
The Cowboys will closely monitor Lamb's progress and hope to have him back on the field as soon as possible. The MRI results will provide more information about the extent of his injury and the potential impact on the team's regular season.
