Diego Martínez Urges Team To Maintain Recent Momentum
Following their impressive 3-0 victory over Mallorca, RCD Espanyol manager Diego Martínez has called on his team to maintain their recent momentum and continue their upward trajectory in La Liga.
Impressive Form
Espanyol have won their last two league games, scoring six goals and conceding none. This upturn in form has seen them climb to 10th place in the standings, just four points behind seventh-placed Atlético Madrid.
"We are in a good moment," said Martínez. "The team is playing with confidence, and we are creating a lot of chances. We need to keep working hard and maintain this momentum."
Key Players
Martínez praised the performances of his players, particularly Joselu and Martin Braithwaite, who have scored five goals between them in the last two games.
"Joselu is a top striker," said Martínez. "He is always in the right place at the right time, and he knows how to score goals. Martin is also playing very well. He is a great player with a lot of experience, and he is a valuable asset to the team."
Upcoming Fixtures
Espanyol face a tough test of their recent form in their upcoming fixtures. They travel to face Real Madrid on Saturday, before hosting Real Betis and Barcelona in their next two home games.
"We have a difficult run of games coming up," said Martínez. "But we are confident that we can continue our good form. We have a good squad, and we are ready for the challenge."
