Flyers Goalie Carter Hart Leaves Early Against Bruins With Injury
Carter Hart's Night Ends Abruptly
Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart was forced to leave Wednesday night's game against the Boston Bruins due to an injury. Hart made 12 saves on 14 shots before exiting the game at 10:23 of the second period.
Sam Ersson replaced Hart in net and stopped all 15 shots he faced in the Flyers' eventual 3-0 loss.
Nature of the Injury Unknown
The Flyers have not yet provided any information on the nature of Hart's injury. The 24-year-old netminder was seen grabbing at his left leg at one point during the second period and appeared to be in some discomfort.
Hart has been one of the Flyers' most consistent players this season, posting a 11-10-5 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and .915 save percentage. He is expected to undergo further evaluation by the team's medical staff on Thursday.
Flyers Lose Ground in Playoff Race
The loss to the Bruins was a setback for the Flyers in their quest for a playoff berth. The Flyers are now 16-24-8 on the season and sit 10 points behind the Bruins for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
With 34 games remaining in the regular season, the Flyers will need to start stringing together some wins if they want to have a chance at making the playoffs.
