Harris Urges Milwaukee Voters To Turn Out As Election Day Nears
Vice President Kamala Harris rallied Milwaukee voters Monday, urging them to turn out for Tuesday's election and emphasizing the importance of the upcoming midterm races.
'Your Vote Will Make A Difference'
"Your vote will make a difference," Harris told a crowd of supporters at a rally at the Wisconsin Center. "This election is about our democracy and our future."
Harris focused her remarks on the importance of electing Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, from governor to state Assembly. She highlighted the party's commitment to issues like abortion rights, affordable healthcare, and gun safety.
"We have the power to shape the future of our state and our country," Harris said. "Let's use our votes to make sure that future is bright."
Early Voting Numbers Strong
Harris's visit to Milwaukee came as early voting numbers in the city were strong. As of Monday, more than 100,000 people had cast their ballots early in Milwaukee, a record for a midterm election.
The high turnout is a positive sign for Democrats, who are hoping to retain control of the governor's office and the state Assembly. However, Republicans are also optimistic about their chances, pointing to recent polls showing a tight race in the governor's contest.
Election Day Is Tuesday
Election Day is Tuesday, November 8. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can find their polling place by visiting the Milwaukee Election Commission website.
