Lightning Star Brayden Point Suffers Injury In Game Against Jets
Tampa Bay Lightning star Brayden Point suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Point was injured in the first period of the game after he was hit by Jets defenseman Neal Pionk. Point immediately went to the Lightning's locker room and did not return to the game.
The Lightning announced after the game that Point had suffered a lower-body injury and would be evaluated further.
Point is a key player for the Lightning
Point is one of the Lightning's top forwards and is coming off a season in which he scored 28 goals and 48 assists in 66 games. He is also a key member of the Lightning's power play.
The Lightning are already without Nikita Kucherov, who is out with a lower-body injury. The loss of Point would be a major blow to the Lightning's chances of winning the Stanley Cup.
The Lightning will play their next game on Monday against the Boston Bruins. It is unclear if Point will be able to play in that game.
