SMU's AJ Davis Regains Full Movement After Gruesome Injury
In a remarkable display of resilience, SMU cornerback AJ Davis has regained full movement following a gruesome injury that threatened to end his football career. Davis suffered a broken tibia and fibula in his right leg during spring practice in 2021, an injury that required surgery and months of rehabilitation.
The Road to Recovery
Davis faced an arduous journey to get back on the field. He underwent extensive physical therapy, spending hours each day strengthening his leg and regaining range of motion. The process was physically and emotionally demanding, but Davis never gave up hope.
"I knew it was going to be a long road, but I was determined to get back," Davis said. "I had a lot of support from my family, my teammates, and the coaching staff. They all believed in me, and that made a big difference."
The Return
After months of rehabilitation, Davis finally returned to the field in the 2022 season. He started every game and made 10 tackles, proving that he had regained his speed and agility.
"It was an incredible feeling to be back out there with my teammates," Davis said. "I had worked so hard to get back, and it was all worth it."
