Vancouver Canucks Coach Praises Hughes Family's Exceptional Work Ethic and Hockey Prowess
A Legacy of Excellence
Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau has lavished praise on the Hughes family for their unwavering dedication to the sport of hockey and their remarkable talent on the ice.
Exceptional Work Ethic
Boudreau has witnessed firsthand the family's relentless work ethic during practices and games. He notes that both brothers, Quinn and Jack, are always eager to improve and push themselves to the limit.
"They're two of the hardest-working players I've ever seen," said Boudreau. "They set the example for the rest of the team with their attitude and determination."
Hockey Dynasty
The Hughes family has a deep-rooted history in hockey. Quinn Hughes, a defenseman, made his NHL debut with the Canucks in 2019-20 and has quickly established himself as one of the league's top young players. His brother, Jack Hughes, is a center who plays for the New Jersey Devils and was the first overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Their father, Jim Hughes, was an NHL player in the 1980s and 1990s, while their uncle, Pat Hughes, played for the Montreal Canadiens in the 1970s.
Mentorship and Support
Boudreau believes that the family's close relationship and support system have played a crucial role in their success.
"They're always helping each other out and pushing each other to be better," said Boudreau. "It's a great family dynamic that has created two exceptional hockey players."
Bright Future
The Canucks coach is excited about the future of the Hughes brothers and the impact they will have on the team. He predicts that Quinn Hughes will become a cornerstone of the Canucks defense for years to come, and he anticipates that Jack Hughes will establish himself as one of the NHL's top offensive threats.
"They're both incredibly talented and driven," said Boudreau. "I can't wait to see what they accomplish in their careers."
