Zverev Overpowers Rune To Advance To Paris Masters Final Clash With Humbert

Alexander Zverev produced a dominant performance to defeat Holger Rune 6-3, 6-2 and reach the Paris Masters final, where he will face Ugo Humbert.

The German is aiming to win the tournament for the third time, having triumphed in 2018 and 2020. He has been in excellent form all week and has yet to drop a set.

Rune, meanwhile, was looking to reach his second Masters final of the year after winning the title in Munich in April. However, the 19-year-old was outplayed by Zverev, who was simply too strong on the day.

Zverev Dominates In First Set

Zverev started the match strongly and broke Rune's serve in the third game. The German then held his own serve to love to take a 3-1 lead.

Rune was struggling to find his rhythm and Zverev took full advantage. The German broke Rune's serve again in the seventh game to take a 5-2 lead.

Zverev served out the set to love to take the first set 6-3.

Zverev Continues To Impress In Second Set

Zverev continued to dominate in the second set. He broke Rune's serve in the first game and then held his own serve to love to take a 2-0 lead.

Rune was unable to find a way back into the match and Zverev broke his serve again in the fifth game to take a 4-1 lead.

Zverev then held his own serve to love to take a 5-1 lead.

Rune managed to win one more game, but Zverev served out the set to love to take the second set 6-2.

Zverev will now face Humbert in the final. The Frenchman has been in impressive form all week and will be looking to cause an upset. However, Zverev will be confident of victory, having won their only previous meeting in straight sets.
