## Canucks Defenseman Joshua Aiming For Post-Surgery Return After Cancer Battle | Exclusive Insight

Canucks defenseman Jack Joshua is determined to return to the ice after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his colon.

Joshua, 26, was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer in October 2021 and underwent surgery two weeks later. He has since undergone chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

"I'm feeling really good," Joshua said in an exclusive interview with Sportsnet. "I'm just taking it one day at a time and trying to get back to playing as soon as I can."

Joshua said he is aiming to return to the Canucks lineup in time for the start of the 2022-23 season.

"That's my goal," he said. "I know it's going to be a tough road, but I'm up for the challenge."

Joshua said he has been inspired by the support of his family, friends, and teammates.

"It's been amazing," he said. "Everyone has been so supportive and it's really helped me get through this."

### Joshua's Journey

Joshua's journey began in October 2021 when he started experiencing abdominal pain. He went to see his doctor, who ordered a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy revealed a cancerous tumor.

Joshua underwent surgery to remove the tumor two weeks later. The surgery was successful, but Joshua still had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Joshua said the chemotherapy and radiation therapy were tough, but he got through it with the support of his family and friends.

"It was a tough time, but I got through it," he said. "I'm just grateful to be alive."

### Joshua's Return

Joshua is now focusing on getting back to playing hockey. He has been skating and working out regularly.

Joshua said he is confident that he will be able to return to the Canucks lineup in time for the start of the 2022-23 season.

"I'm feeling really good," he said. "I'm just taking it one day at a time and trying to get back to playing as soon as I can."
