Colorado Football In Position For Big 12 Run
After years of struggles, the Colorado Buffaloes football team appears poised for a breakout season in 2023. Led by new head coach Deion Sanders, the Buffs have assembled a talented roster that could compete for a Big 12 championship.
Colorado's offense is expected to be one of the most explosive in the conference. Quarterback JT Shrout returns after a solid 2022 season, and he has a trio of talented wide receivers to throw to, including J.T. Shrout, Jordyn Tyson, and Dane Key. The running game is also expected to be strong, led by Deion Smith and Ashaad Clayton.
The defense is also expected to be much improved in 2023. Sanders has brought in several experienced coaches, including Nick Holt, Rod Wilson, and ShaDon Brown, to help turn around a unit that struggled mightily last season. The Buffs have added several talented players to the defense, including linebacker Devon Holt, defensive end Vanita Krouch, and safety Edwin White.
Coach Prime Praised
Sanders has been praised for his recruiting efforts since arriving in Boulder. He has landed several high-profile recruits, including five-star cornerback Davison Igbinosum and four-star wide receiver Adam Randall. Sanders has also been able to keep some of Colorado's top in-state recruits, such as linebacker David Bailey and offensive lineman Jake Wray.
Sanders' impact has been felt on and off the field. The Buffs have been more competitive in the weight room and on the practice field, and their team culture has improved significantly. Sanders has also been a great ambassador for the university, and he has helped to generate excitement for the football program.
If the Buffs can continue to improve, they could be a dark horse contender in the Big 12 in 2023. Sanders has the talent and the experience to lead this team to success, and he has the full support of the university and the community.
