Cowboys' Prescott to Undergo MRI After Hamstring Injury
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott exited Thursday's preseason game against the Houston Texans with a left hamstring injury and will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of the ailment.
The injury occurred in the second quarter when Prescott was scrambling to his right and felt a sharp pain in his hamstring. He immediately came out of the game and was examined by the team's medical staff.
Prescott was seen limping off the field and did not return to the game. The Cowboys are hopeful that the injury is not serious, but they will not know for sure until the results of the MRI are back.
Prescott's Injury History
Prescott has a history of hamstring injuries. In 2017, he missed several games due to a hamstring strain. He also missed a game in 2018 with a hamstring injury.
The Cowboys are hoping that Prescott's latest hamstring injury is not as serious as his previous ones. They need him healthy if they want to make a run at the Super Bowl this season.
Cowboys' Quarterback Depth
If Prescott is forced to miss any time due to injury, the Cowboys have several other quarterbacks on their roster. Cooper Rush is the backup quarterback and has started several games in the past. Will Grier and Ben DiNucci are also on the roster and could be called upon to play if needed.
The Cowboys are hoping that Prescott's injury is not serious and that he will be back on the field soon. However, they have a contingency plan in place in case he is forced to miss any time.
