## Florida State Stumbles, Falls to No. 12 North Carolina in ACC Bout

### Seminoles Look Lackluster in 80-62 Loss

Florida State's once-promising season took a turn for the worse on Tuesday night, as the Seminoles fell to No. 12 North Carolina in a lopsided 80-62 defeat.

The loss drops Florida State to 13-8 on the season and 5-5 in ACC play, while North Carolina improves to 16-5 and 8-2 in the conference.

The Seminoles looked sluggish and out of sync from the opening tip. North Carolina's defense held Florida State to just 37% shooting from the field and 20% from three-point range.

Meanwhile, the Tar Heels shot 56% from the field and 43% from three-point range. They also dominated the rebounding battle, outrebounding Florida State 42-26.

Lack of Effort Hurts Florida State

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton was visibly frustrated after the game, citing a lack of effort from his team.

"We didn't play with the same intensity and focus that we're capable of," Hamilton said. "North Carolina is a great team, but we didn't give ourselves a chance to win tonight."

Senior guard Darin Green Jr. led the Seminoles in scoring with 15 points, but he was the only Florida State player to reach double figures.

North Carolina Dominates

North Carolina was led by Armando Bacot, who had a monster game with 21 points and 18 rebounds. Caleb Love also added 18 points for the Tar Heels.

The Tar Heels were able to control the tempo of the game throughout, and they never allowed Florida State to get into any sort of rhythm.

Florida State's Season in Jeopardy

Florida State's loss to North Carolina was a major setback for the Seminoles. They now find themselves in a tough spot in the ACC standings, and their NCAA Tournament hopes are in jeopardy.

The Seminoles will need to find a way to turn things around quickly if they want to salvage their season. They have a tough matchup on Saturday against No. 14 Miami, and they will need to win that game to stay in contention for an NCAA Tournament berth.
