Flyers Suffer Shutout Loss To Bruins After Early Ersson Injury

Ersson Leaves Game After 7 Minutes

The Philadelphia Flyers suffered a disappointing 4-0 shutout loss to the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. The loss was made even more frustrating by the fact that it came after Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson left the game with an injury just 7 minutes into the first period.

Ersson, who was making his first start of the season, was injured on a shot by Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk. Ersson immediately grabbed his left leg and had to be helped off the ice. He was diagnosed with a lower-body injury and did not return to the game.

Flyers Struggle Without Ersson

With Ersson out of the game, the Flyers turned to backup goalie Felix Sandstrom. Sandstrom made some big saves in the first period, but he was eventually beaten by Bruins forward Brad Marchand in the second period. Marchand's goal was the first of three unanswered goals by the Bruins.

The Flyers had a few chances to score in the third period, but they couldn't find the back of the net. The Bruins added an empty-net goal in the final minute to seal the victory.

Tough Night for Flyers

The loss was a tough one for the Flyers, who have now lost two straight games. The Flyers have also lost three of their last four games. The Flyers will look to bounce back on Saturday night when they host the New York Rangers.
