NHL Prospects: Pacific Division Updates

Celebrini, Montour, Brännström, and Bains Making Strides

The Pacific Division is home to some of the most exciting young talent in the NHL. Here's an update on four prospects who are making waves:

Jack Celebrini, Los Angeles Kings

Celebrini is a 6'3", 205-pound defenseman who was drafted by the Kings in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He's a physical presence on the ice, but he also has good puck-handling skills and can contribute offensively. Celebrini has spent the past two seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's (OHL) Ottawa 67's, where he has been a key player on a contending team. He's expected to make his NHL debut with the Kings this season.

Jamie Drysdale, Anaheim Ducks

Drysdale is a 6'4", 195-pound defenseman who was drafted by the Ducks with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He's a smooth-skating puck-mover who can quarterback a power play. Drysdale made his NHL debut with the Ducks last season, and he played in 37 games, recording seven assists. He's expected to take on a bigger role with the team this season.

Lucas Brännström, Vegas Golden Knights

Brännström is a 6'2", 190-pound defenseman who was drafted by the Golden Knights in the first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He's a skilled puck-handler who can create scoring chances for himself and his teammates. Brännström has spent the past two seasons with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Henderson Silver Knights, where he has been a top-pairing defenseman. He's expected to make his NHL debut with the Golden Knights this season.

Harman Bains, Vancouver Canucks

Bains is a 6'3", 205-pound centerman who was drafted by the Canucks in the second round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He's a strong two-way centerman who can play in all situations. Bains has spent the past two seasons with the Western Hockey League's (WHL) Kamloops Blazers, where he has been one of the team's top scorers. He's expected to make his NHL debut with the Canucks this season.
