An Exclusive Interview with the Sens' Newest Addition
After the Ottawa Senators' thrilling 5-4 overtime victory over the Seattle Kraken, TSN's Ian Mendes caught up with the team's newest addition, Adam Gaudette. The 25-year-old forward shared his thoughts on the win and his experience in Ottawa so far.
Mendes: "Adam, what a night for the Sens! What was it like to get your first win with the team?"
Gaudette: "Yeah, it was an amazing feeling. The guys battled hard tonight and it was great to get the two points. It's been a lot of fun playing here in Ottawa. The fans have been great and the team has welcomed me with open arms."
Mendes: "You played a key role in the victory, setting up two goals. What was your mindset going into the game?"
Gaudette: "I just wanted to come in and do my part. I know I'm capable of contributing and I want to help the team succeed in any way I can. I'm still getting used to the system, but I'm learning more every day."
Mendes: "You played on a line with Josh Norris and Brady Tkachuk tonight. How have you enjoyed playing with those guys?"
Gaudette: "They're both such talented players. Norris is a great scorer and Tkachuk is a physical presence. It's been a blast playing with them. We're all good friends off the ice, so it makes it easy to play well together."
Mendes: "What do you think the Senators' chances are for making the playoffs this season?"
Gaudette: "I think we've got a good chance. We have a lot of talent on this team and we're all working hard. The fans are starting to believe in us too. The atmosphere in the rink tonight was electric. It's going to be a lot of fun if we can keep this momentum going."
Mendes: "Thanks for your time, Adam. Best of luck to you and the Senators."
Gaudette: "Thanks, Ian."
