Rangers Make Roster Moves: Vesey Returns, Rempe Assigned to AHL
The New York Rangers have announced a series of roster moves, including the return of forward Jimmy Vesey and the assignment of forward Brett Rempe to the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL).
Vesey Returns to the Fold
Jimmy Vesey, who spent the past two seasons with the New Jersey Devils, has re-joined the Rangers on a one-year, $750,000 contract. The 29-year-old winger has recorded 222 NHL games over seven seasons, tallying 46 goals and 56 assists.
Vesey's return adds depth and experience to the Rangers' top-nine forward group. His ability to play both wings and contribute offensively will provide head coach Gerard Gallant with increased lineup flexibility.
Rempe Assigned to Hartford
Brett Rempe, a 2022 second-round draft pick, has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack. The 18-year-old center has impressed during the preseason, showcasing his speed, skill, and scoring ability.
The assignment to the AHL will provide Rempe with an opportunity to gain valuable experience and further develop his game. He will be eligible for a call-up to the NHL if needed.
Other Roster Moves
In addition to these moves, the Rangers have placed forward Vitali Kravtsov on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the AHL. Forward Jake Leschyshyn has also been assigned to the Wolf Pack.
