Mitchell's Game-Winning Shot Extends Cavs' Winning Streak
Donovan Mitchell's game-winning shot with 1.5 seconds remaining lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 105-103 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to four games.
Mitchell finished with a team-high 26 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, while Darius Garland added 25 points and Jarrett Allen had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
The Bucks were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists. Jrue Holiday added 25 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome Mitchell's heroics.
The Cavs took a 103-101 lead with 1:30 remaining on a jumper by Garland, but Antetokounmpo tied it up with a layup just seconds later.
After a timeout, the Cavs ran a play for Mitchell, who got open on the left wing and knocked down the game-winning shot over the outstretched arm of Antetokounmpo.
Bucks Fall To Disappointing 1-5 Record
The Bucks have now lost five of their first six games, including three straight at home. It's the first time they've started a season 1-5 since the 2014-15 season.
Antetokounmpo has been playing well, but he hasn't gotten enough help from his teammates. Holiday has been solid, but the rest of the Bucks' starting lineup has struggled.
Bobby Portis is shooting just 38.2% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range, while Brook Lopez is shooting just 37.5% from the field.
The Bucks will need to find a way to get more production from their supporting cast if they want to turn their season around.
