NBA Star Jayson Tatum Suffers 'Ray Lewis'-esque Foul, Sparking Criticism From Brown

Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics star, was on the receiving end of a hard foul from Markieff Morris of the Miami Heat during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The foul drew comparisons to the infamous hit by former NFL linebacker Ray Lewis on wide receiver Joe Horn in 2000.

Morris's Hit on Tatum

With just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter, Tatum was driving to the basket when Morris came from behind and hit him hard in the head. Tatum was knocked to the ground and appeared to be dazed. He was helped off the court and did not return for the rest of the game.

The foul was immediately condemned by Celtics coach Brad Stevens, who called it "a dirty play." Brown also weighed in, saying that Morris should be suspended.

Morris Defends His Actions

Morris, for his part, defended his actions, saying that he was simply trying to make a hard foul.

"I'm not a dirty player," Morris said. "I was just trying to make a hard foul. I didn't mean to hurt him."

NBA Investigating the Foul

The NBA is currently investigating the foul. If Morris is found to have violated league rules, he could be suspended.

Tatum's Health Status

Tatum has been diagnosed with a concussion and is listed as day-to-day. He is expected to miss Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics are hoping that Tatum will be able to return for Game 5. However, if he is unable to play, it will be a major blow to their chances of winning the series.
