Anton Forsberg Leads Ottawa Senators' to Victory Over Seattle Kraken
The Ottawa Senators have been struggling lately, but they got a much-needed win on Monday night, beating the Seattle Kraken 5-1 at home. Anton Forsberg was the star of the game for the Senators, stopping 38 of 39 shots.
Thomas Chabot's Historic Performance
Thomas Chabot got the Senators on the board first, scoring a power-play goal early in the second period. It was Chabot's first goal of the season, and it came on a beautiful shot from the point.
Chabot's goal was also historic, as it was the 100th goal of his NHL career. He is now just the fifth Senators' defenseman to reach that milestone.
Sensational Sens Sweep the Kraken
After Chabot's goal, the Senators took control of the game and never looked back. They scored four more goals in the third period, including two from Alex DeBrincat.
Forsberg was excellent in net for the Senators, making several key saves to keep the Kraken at bay. He was named the game's first star for his performance.
The win was a much-needed one for the Senators, who had lost five of their previous six games. It also snapped a three-game losing streak to the Kraken.
The Senators will look to build on their victory when they host the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night.
