Packers Injury Report: Love Starts, Alexander Sits Against Lions
Jordan Love Gets the Nod
With Aaron Rodgers still recovering from a rib injury, Jordan Love will start at quarterback for the Green Bay Packers against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. Love has played sparingly this season, completing 24 of 44 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown with three interceptions.
Alexander Out with Shoulder Injury
Jaire Alexander, the Packers' star cornerback, will miss the game against the Lions due to a shoulder injury. Alexander is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and his absence will be a major blow to the Packers' defense.
Other Injuries
In addition to Love and Alexander, the Packers will also be without several other key players against the Lions. Wide receiver Allen Lazard (ankle) and running back Aaron Jones (knee) are both listed as questionable. If they are unable to play, it will put more pressure on Love to perform well.
The Packers are currently 4-8 and are in danger of missing the playoffs. A win against the Lions would keep their playoff hopes alive, but it will be a tough task without some of their key players.
