Reactions From Brennan, Fifita, And Johnson After Arizona's Defeat To UCF
Brennan's Perspective
"This is a tough one to swallow," said Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura on the loss to UCF. "We had a lot of opportunities to win this game, but we just didn't make enough plays when we needed to."
Brennan was referring to several key turnovers and missed opportunities that cost Arizona the game. The Wildcats turned the ball over three times, including two interceptions by Brennan. They also missed two field goals and had a punt blocked.
Despite the mistakes, Brennan said he was proud of his team's effort. "We fought hard until the end," he said. "We just have to learn from our mistakes and get better."
Fifita's Reaction
"It's frustrating," said Arizona running back Michael Wiley on the loss. "We had a lot of chances to win this game, but we just didn't get it done."
Fifita was the Wildcats' leading rusher in the game, with 102 yards on 17 carries. However, he also had a key fumble in the fourth quarter that gave UCF the ball back.
"I have to be better," Fifita said. "I can't afford to make mistakes like that in big games."
Johnson's Perspective
"We have to find a way to win these games," said Arizona linebacker Colin Schooler on the loss. "We're capable of it, but we just have to execute better."
Johnson was the Wildcats' leading tackler in the game, with 10 tackles. However, he also had a key penalty that gave UCF a first down late in the game.
"I have to be more disciplined," Johnson said. "I can't afford to make mistakes like that in big games."
