Steven Lorentz Nets First Point In 10 Games
A Long Time Coming
Steven Lorentz finally broke out of his scoring slump on Tuesday night, netting his first point in 10 games. The goal came in the third period of the Hurricanes' 4-1 win over the Kings, and it was a thing of beauty. Lorentz took a pass from Andrei Svechnikov and fired a wrist shot past Kings goaltender Calvin Petersen.
It was a big moment for Lorentz, who had been struggling to find his scoring touch all season. He had just one goal in his first 19 games, and he had gone pointless in his last nine. But on Tuesday night, he finally broke through.
"It's been a long time coming," Lorentz said. "I've been working hard, and I've been getting chances. It's nice to finally see one go in."
Lorentz's goal was a big boost for the Hurricanes, who are now 4-1-1 in their last six games. The team is starting to find its groove, and Lorentz is a big part of that.
"He's a great player," Svechnikov said. "He's fast, he's strong, and he can shoot the puck. He's going to be a big part of our team this season."
With Lorentz back on track, the Hurricanes are hoping to make a run at the playoffs. The team is currently in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division, and they have a chance to make a move up the standings in the coming weeks.
