Swift Current RCMP Hunting for Suspects in Firearm Assaults

Dangerous Suspects at Large

The Swift Current RCMP is actively searching for suspects involved in multiple firearm assaults that occurred over the weekend in the city. The incidents have left one person injured.

On Sunday, June 12, around 10:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots being fired near a gas station on Chaplin Street East. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim who had been struck by gunfire. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Second Incident

Less than an hour later, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the RCMP received a second report of shots being fired in the King George neighborhood. In this incident, no injuries were reported.

Suspect Description

The suspects are described as two males, one of whom was wearing a black hoodie and black pants, and the other wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans. They were seen fleeing the scene of the second incident in a newer model white car.

Public Safety Concerns

"These incidents highlight the importance of public safety and the need for the cooperation of the community in assisting with our investigations," said Superintendent Joe Weekes, Officer-in-Charge of the Swift Current RCMP Detachment.
