Martha Stewart Shocked By Own 'Lonely Old Lady' Appearance In Netflix Doc

Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has expressed shock at her own appearance in a recent Netflix documentary, describing herself as a "lonely old lady."

The 81-year-old entrepreneur and television personality was featured in the docuseries "Martha Stewart: Cooking Up a Storm," which chronicled her life and career. In one scene, Stewart is shown looking at footage of herself from the 1990s and early 2000s, and she is visibly taken aback by how different she looks.

"I Was Shocked"

"I was shocked," Stewart said in an interview with People magazine. "I looked like a lonely old lady."

Stewart said that she had been so focused on her work and her children that she had neglected her own appearance.

"I had always been so focused on everything else that I didn't pay attention to myself," she said. "I didn't realize how old I was looking."

Stewart said that she has since made a conscious effort to take better care of herself, both physically and emotionally.

"I'm eating better, I'm exercising more, and I'm taking the time to do things that I enjoy," she said. "I'm feeling better than I have in years."

Stewart's comments have sparked a discussion about the importance of self-care, especially for older adults.

"It's so important to take care of yourself, both physically and emotionally," said Dr. David Katz, a preventive medicine specialist and author of "The Longevity Code." "As we age, it's easy to let our health slip, but it's never too late to make a change."

Katz said that even small changes, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep, can make a big difference in our health and well-being.

"Taking care of yourself is not selfish," Katz said. "It's the best way to live a long, healthy, and happy life."
