Nantes Vs. Marseille Match Report: Greenwood Dominant, Sorba Thomas Errs (Ligue 1)

Greenwood Shines in Nantes Victory

Mason Greenwood continued his impressive form for Nantes as they secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday. The English winger was a constant threat throughout the match, terrorizing the Marseille defense with his pace and skill.

Greenwood opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a clinical finish. He received a pass from Ludovic Blas on the left flank, cut inside onto his right foot, and fired a low shot into the bottom corner.

The 21-year-old continued to impress in the second half, creating several chances for his teammates. He was denied a second goal by Pau Lopez's excellent save in the 65th minute.

Nantes doubled their lead in the 82nd minute through Ignatius Ganago. The Cameroonian striker latched onto a through ball from Blas and slotted it past Lopez.

Sorba Thomas Errors Cost Marseille

Marseille's Sorba Thomas had a night to forget at the Stade de la Beaujoire. The Welsh international was at fault for both of Nantes' goals.

Thomas misjudged a clearance in the first half, allowing Greenwood to steal possession and score the opener. In the second half, he was caught out of position for Ganago's goal.

Thomas's poor performance was a major factor in Marseille's defeat. The French giants have now lost three of their last four games in all competitions.
