Tornado Warning Issued For Multiple Counties In Northeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service issues tornado warning for several counties in Northeast Oklahoma
The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a tornado warning for several counties in Northeast Oklahoma, including Osage, Washington, and Nowata counties. The warning was issued at 5:30 p.m. CDT and is in effect until 6:15 p.m. CDT.
Doppler radar indicated a tornado was located 10 miles south of Bartlesville, moving northeast at 30 mph. The tornado is expected to be near Copan at 5:45 p.m. CDT and near Wann at 6:00 p.m. CDT.
Residents in the warned area should take shelter immediately. The best place to take shelter is in a below-ground storm cellar or basement. If you do not have access to a below-ground shelter, you should go to the lowest level of your home and stay away from windows.
